What is a Chiropractic Adjustment?

A chiropractic adjustment is a quick thrust applied to a vertebra for the purpose of correcting its position, movement or both. These adjustments are performed by your chiropractor to identified subluxations in your spine, with the aim of restoring the function of your spine and removing any interference to the nerve. Chiropractic adjustments are often accompanied by an audible release of gas that sounds like a ‘crack.’ Occasionally, you may experience minor discomfort, especially if the surrounding muscles spasm or if you tense up during the procedure.
